Global Peregrines

   The Peregrine Falcon is the most widely distributed bird on earth. It occurs on every continent (except Antarctica) and several oceanic islands. In cooperation with Dr. Clayton White, we are collecting DNA samples from these populations to study the sub-specific differences between the 17-19 recognized “races” worldwide. To date, we have obtained samples from the Canary Islands, the Cape Verde Islands, the Falkland Islands, the Fijian Islands, Argentina, Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Greenland, Israel, and Washington.
